Working for Someone Else or for Yourself

We have another holiday season upon us and our thoughts are focused on home, family and excited we get some time away from work.  So I started thinking about our evolution as human beings and how the structure of the family unit has changed and how some have lost respect for mother earth. 

It seems that more of our time is spent working away from home and family than ever before.  Growing up in my family, it was impressed upon us that we had to go look for a job and work for someone else so we would be secure and be able to shelter and feed our families.  Rarely was anyone brave enough to take a chance and try working for themselves because...it was just plain frightening, like walking on a tightrope across a river of alligators without a net.  I held onto that belief like a security blanket, yet all the while wishing I could just do something that I wanted to do and make a living doing it.  I could really see the benefits of working from home and wondered why the big corporations couldn't see the benefits the way I did. 

• Families would spend more time together.

• You might get a chance to get to know your neighbors.

• You could take a vacation whenever you want.

Of course, I could list about 20+ items but I think you get the idea.  With that in mind, I bet you can think of a bunch more too!

In today's society, it doesn't have to be so frightening.  There are lots of opportunities and because of the expedience of communication via the computer age, we can help each other fulfill a dream of being able to work at home.  That's why I'm very happy with Permaworld Foundation.
